Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and, if available from your sign-in provider (for example: Google), your display name and avatar URL. We use this to manage your account and to show your name (or a masked email) and avatar on reviews if you have not chosen to anonymize your reviews.
• Reviews: If you leave a review for a gym, we store the review text and rating. Reviews are shown publicly on the site; you can choose in your profile to show reviews anonymously (no name or avatar).
• Bookmarks: When you save (bookmark) a gym, we store that association so we can show your saved gyms on your profile.
• Issue reports: If you report incorrect gym information, we store the selected issue type, report details, related gym, your user ID, and report status.
• Optional location data: If you allow location access, we process your browser-provided coordinates to suggest a nearby supported city. We also store limited location prompt/result state in local storage on your device.
• Usage: We may collect information about how you use the site (for example: pages visited) for operation and improvement of the service.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and improve WorkoutFrom: to run your account, to display gym listings, reviews, and your saved gyms, to process issue reports, and to communicate with you about your account (for example: password reset) if needed.

Third-party services

We use Supabase for authentication and database storage. Supabase processes data on our behalf in accordance with their privacy practices. If you sign in with Google, Google's privacy policy applies to that sign-in. We also use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (for example: page views) so we can improve the service. We use third-party map and tile services to display maps and provide outbound map links (for example: Google Maps). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and to keep you signed in. We also use local storage for limited UI state (for example: location prompt/result flags). If analytics is enabled in our production environment, Google Analytics may set cookies to measure traffic and usage trends.

Your rights

You can access and update your profile display name and anonymize preference from your account. Avatar images are currently sourced from your sign-in provider and are not edited directly in-app. You can remove saved gyms by unbookmarking them. You can edit/delete your own reviews. You can request deletion of your account or personal data (including reviews, bookmarks, and reports) by contacting us.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and, for material changes, we may notify you via email or a notice on the site.
